The New 2026 ABRA CNC AutoBlaster – Faster, Stronger and Easier to Maintain

The ABRA CNC AutoBlaster has changed the way professional sandblasting businesses approach repetitive engraving work. Instead of an operator manually blasting every letter and design, the AutoBlaster automates the process. Set the blasting areas and parameters, start the machine and let it do the work while the operator moves on to another job.

For 2026, ABRA has taken the CNC AutoBlaster another step forward. The latest generation incorporates a series of significant mechanical and operational upgrades designed to improve blasting performance, strengthen the machine, improve dust extraction and, importantly, reduce maintenance and wearing parts.

1. New Venturi Blasting Nozzle

One of the most significant changes is the move from the original straight-bore nozzle arrangement to a new Venturi-style blasting nozzle. The Venturi design provides a more powerful and efficient blasting stream, delivering improved blasting performance at the work surface.

But improved blasting performance is only part of the story. The new head has also been designed with fewer wearing parts and a much simpler nozzle replacement system. When the nozzle eventually wears, changing it is now extremely straightforward – simply unscrew the worn nozzle and screw in the replacement. For a machine designed to save labour, simplifying routine maintenance is an important improvement.

2. New Quiter - More Powerful Extraction Motor

Effective extraction is critical to the operation of a vacuum sandblasting system. The new AutoBlaster incorporates a more powerful extraction motor, improving the machine's ability to recover abrasive and dust directly from the blasting head. This helps maintain the dustless operating environment that has always been one of the major advantages of the ABRA system.

Better extraction also assists the abrasive recovery and separation process, keeping the working environment cleaner while allowing reusable abrasive to be returned to the system. And as an added bonus the new extraction motor is much quieter than the original extraction motor.

3. New Twin-Rail System

The CNC movement system has also been upgraded with a new twin-rail design. The additional rail support strengthens the movement system and provides a more robust platform for the blasting head as it travels across the work area. For a CNC machine that may perform thousands of movements during its working life, rigidity and stability are extremely important.

The twin-rail arrangement is another example of ABRA improving the mechanical strength of the AutoBlaster rather than simply adding more electronics.

4. Airflow Protection for the Guide Rails and Bearings

The latest AutoBlaster uses airflow through the guide-rail system to help prevent abrasive and dust from entering the rails and bearings. By maintaining positive airflow around these components, contamination is reduced, helping protect the CNC movement system and extend the service life of the components. It is a relatively simple idea that can make a substantial difference to long-term reliability.

5. New Operating Controller

The latest AutoBlaster also features a new operation controller, continuing ABRA's focus on making the system simple for operators to use. The AutoBlaster is designed so that the operator does not need specialist CNC programming knowledge. Once the job has been set up, the machine automatically controls the blasting process, allowing the operator to move on to other productive work. The system can control multiple blasting areas, passes and blasting parameters to achieve consistent results across the job.

6. New Abrasive Sight Window

Another simple but extremely useful improvement is the addition of a sight window in the pressure pot. Operators can now visually check the abrasive level rather than relying solely on the machine's automatic monitoring system. It makes routine inspection faster and gives the operator an immediate visual indication of what is happening inside the pressure vessel.

7. Redesigned Pneumatic System

The pneumatic system has also been redesigned as part of the latest AutoBlaster development. Compressed air is at the heart of any pressure sandblasting system, so improvements to the pneumatic layout contribute to the overall reliability, efficiency and serviceability of the machine. Together with the simplified Venturi blasting head, the redesigned pneumatic system is part of ABRA's move towards a more robust machine with fewer maintenance requirements.

ABRA and ProBlast are committed to excellence in equipment and service and the latest AutoBlaster shows the commitment in spades. The new system has thoughtfully reduced wearing parts, decreased maintenance procedures and delivered a stronger more robust system that automates headstone engraving and propels your business into the modern era of stone engraving.
